Frequently asked questions

It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. As a small business, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence.

What is the Resilient Foundations Project and who is it designed to help?

The Resilient Foundations Project provides free mental-health education and caregiver/community workshops for families supporting individuals with severe mental illness. Our workshops are designed for caregivers, family members, frontline community helpers, and anyone who wants to learn safe, trauma-informed ways to respond to mental-health challenges at home or in the community.

What types of mental-health workshops do you offer?

We offer evidence-based workshops including De-escalation with Care, Caring for the Caregiver, and specialized sessions on mental-health equity, environmental stressors, and early recognition of mental-health symptoms. All workshops are research-informed, interactive, and tailored to real-life situations caregivers and communities face.

How can your de-escalation training help caregivers and community members?

Our de-escalation workshops teach participants how to recognize early warning signs, pause before reacting, and use safe, compassionate communication techniques. These skills help reduce crises, improve safety, and support individuals with mental illness in a more respectful, trauma-informed way. Our goal is to help minimize the need for police involvement during mental health crisis situations.

Are your workshops really free, and how can I register?

Yes, every workshop offered by the Resilient Foundations Project is completely free to the community thanks to grant funding and local partnerships. We primarily focus on those communities who have limitations to access.

Registration links are always available on our website, and sessions are offered in multiple locations across Allegheny, Beaver, Washington Counties and virtually.

Do you offer on-site training for organizations, schools, or community groups?

Absolutely. We can partner with schools, nonprofits, municipalities, libraries, clinics, and community organizations to bring mental-health education directly to their staff or community members. Workshops can be customized to address the specific needs of your organization or population served.

How is the Resilient Foundations Project different from other mental-health programs?

Unlike many programs that focus solely on clinical treatment, we are centered on empowering caregivers, improving everyday support skills, and breaking down barriers to mental-health education. We integrate trauma-informed approaches, equity-focused content, environmental justice insights, and real-world de-escalation tools. All delivered in accessible, non-clinical community settings with a high focus on communities that have limitations to access mental health resources.

When we support the caregiver, we strengthen the foundation for recovery and resilience for those diagnosed with severe mental illnesses.
